      Hi! I'm Ee (ewdurbin) and I am excited to be running for the board of the Python Software Foundation (PSF).

      As a director, my focus would be:

      • Sustainability and wellbeing of the staff
      • Everyday experience of members and sponsors
      • Ongoing durability of the organization

      Highlights of my experience with the PSF over the past thirteen years include:

      • Contract systems administrator
      • Volunteer PyCon US webmaster
      • Maintainer of PyPI
      • PyCon US Co-Chair (Portland) and Chair (Cleveland)
      • PSF staff member and Director of Infrastructure
      • Hat Wearer (miscellaneous)

      These varied roles have afforded me a particular appreciation for the many facets of the PSF's work. Although each role required a particular focus, the decisions along the way carried technical, legal, fiscal, institutional, political, and operational dimensions. Regularly engaging with these considerations has continually widened my understanding of the PSF's operations. I hope to bring the breadth of these experiences to the board.

      My work with the PSF has always been rooted in pursuing its mission and supporting the community it serves. I hope that the opportunity to serve once again will be another step toward my goal of returning to the Python community the full measure of what it has given to me.

      I endorse Ee Durbin for the PSF board. I've personally seen their immense dedication to the Python community, which was also recognized when they were made a PSF Fellow in 2018. They've had years of service on the PSF staff, preceded by years of contributions to Python. I have full confidence that they'd be a valuable member of the board.

      I believe the PSF board will deeply benefit from Ee's expertise. Over the past 15+ years, they've been an incredible champion for Python. Tireless, fair, patient, and enthusiastic. Building & maintaining infrastructure, community, and Pythonista peers. Going well beyond responsibilities of their prior service as PSF Staff, Ee has been a friend, an inspiration, and a role model for making a positive impact on the Python community, even when it's hard. Big thanks for their stewardship of PyCon as co-chair and chair, PyPI as Infrastructure Head, and as probably the fleetest of foot PyLadies Auction runner. I look forward to seeing Ee improve Python in this new capacity.

      I nominate Ee for the PSF Board. Ee has been a dedicated and influential part of the Python community for a long time. As a staff member, they provided innumerable contributions to PyPI and PyPI infrastructure. They chaired PyCon US from 2017 to 2019. I can also personally attest to their dedication to the Python community. They'd make a great addition to the board of directors.

      It's Ee, what is there to say that hasn't been said? Few people have poured as much blood, sweat and tears into the Python ecosystem as they have, and had as much impact on the growth of Python/PSF as an organization, technology and community. Ee is a problem solver at heart, a great listener, and a terrific advocate. They are selfless, kind, humble and caring. Their deep and vast knowledge of the inner workings of everything Python related affords them a truly unique and impressively comprehensive perspective on where the PSF has been and where it is headed. Ee consistently leaves a wave of quietly humming, well oiled progress in their wake and does so while making everyone feel heard, seen and respected. I expect they will do no less as a director and look forward to the calm, coolness and clarity they will undoubtedly bring with them to the PSF board.

      Ee has been one of the most capable, principled, and impact-driven colleagues I have worked with at the PSF, and I am proud to nominate them for a seat on the PSF Board. Over the years, I worked with Ee as a volunteer, as a contractor, and then had the privilege of bringing them on as a full-time staff member. In every capacity, Ee demonstrated an uncommon combination of technical depth, institutional knowledge, operational reliability, and deep care for the people and mission of the PSF.

      The breadth of Ee’s experience in the PSF ecosystem is rare and directly relevant to effective board service. They have seen the organization from almost every vantage point: as a contract systems administrator, a volunteer PyCon US webmaster, a maintainer of PyPI, a PyCon US Co-Chair and Chair, and ultimately as a PSF staff member and Director of Infrastructure. That progression matters. It means Ee understands what it’s like to be an overextended volunteer, a short-term contractor managing critical infrastructure, a conference organizer balancing community expectations with financial risk, and a staff member tasked with turning strategic goals into reliable, day-to-day operations.

      For all of these reasons I strongly support Ee’s candidacy for the PSF Board. I am confident that Ee will be a thoughtful, steady, and community-centered director, and I encourage you to give them your full consideration.
