I am honored to nominate myself for the 2026 Python Software Foundation Board of Directors.
Throughout my career, Python has been the foundation of nearly every major project I have led across artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity, scientific computing, education, and large-scale enterprise systems. As both an industry practitioner and educator, I have seen firsthand how Python has become more than a programming language; it is a catalyst for innovation, collaboration, and opportunity.
Over the past three decades, I have worked across academia, research, government, startups, and Fortune 100 organizations, leading initiatives that apply Python to solve real-world problems. My work has included AI and machine learning systems, agentic AI architectures, supply chain optimization, computer vision, cloud-native platforms, MLOps, and educational technologies that have supported learners at scale. In parallel, I have spent more than twenty years teaching and mentoring students, helping thousands of new developers gain confidence using Python as their first language for data science, automation, and artificial intelligence. If elected, I hope to contribute to the foundation in three primary areas.
First, I want to help expand Python's role in artificial intelligence and intelligent systems. As AI rapidly transforms every industry, the Python ecosystem will continue to be the language that powers research, experimentation, and production deployments. I would advocate for initiatives that strengthen the ecosystem while ensuring it remains accessible, secure, and community-driven.
Second, I am passionate about growing the next generation of Python developers. My background in higher education and workforce development has shown me the importance of creating clear learning pathways, practical educational resources, and inclusive opportunities for individuals entering technology from diverse backgrounds and disciplines.
Third, I believe the foundation has an opportunity to strengthen engagement between industry, academia, and the open-source community. Organizations around the world increasingly depend on Python for mission-critical applications. Building stronger partnerships can increase sustainability, encourage contributions back to the ecosystem, and ensure that Python continues to evolve to meet emerging technical challenges.
The Python community has always distinguished itself through openness, technical excellence, and a culture of helping others succeed. These values closely align with my own professional philosophy. If elected to the board, I would work collaboratively, listen carefully to community members, and help guide strategic initiatives that preserve Python's remarkable culture while supporting its continued growth.
