[TriZPUG] Triangle Built?

Hi all, sorry this had to be my first posting to the list, but I figured I'd provoke some more direct inspiration.

I just wanted to chime in and say that this is my favorite of all the designs I've seen posted. Now for the inspiration...

First off, I would suggest sticking with the anvil rather than incorporating a musical triangle into the design. The Triangle is a location, and has little to do with the purpose of the Triangle Python community, which as I see it is indeed to "forge" things with computers. Also, how would you design a logo around a musical triangle that relates to a Python usergroup? The most resonating mental image I can associate with a musical triangle is dinner time on the farm.

Secondly, drop the Arial typeface. This is a proprietary typeface owned by Monotype Imaging, and it's a shabby knockoff of Helvetica (also owned by Monotype Imaging). I would recommend finding a typeface that is both beautiful and open sourced. Cabin could be a good humanist sans alternative.

Thirdly, I would recommend figuring out a way to make the kerning look better. Here is a game that teaches you how to do that. Additionally, it appears as though the word TRIANGLE is smaller than the word FORGED. Maybe eliminating the black border, and making the anvil smaller would help out with the kerning aspect.

Finally, some cool (but slight) text effects could be used to give this logo a more polished feel. Maybe something that looks like it is made from hot metal?

I also think that the background color is too dark in comparison to the black text, and would recommend using a different color such as #ff4500. That is all bound to change once hot metal text effects are added, so for now I would worry about color last once the other stuff is taken into consideration.
