I'm not sure that Cygwin is all that efficient (IIRC, it uses Windows'
POSIX layer which is suboptimal).  I'd be more interested in seeing a
native Win32 benchmark.  

However, useless numbers are fun so here's my Athlon 1.4GHz, Python
2.2.1:

Pystone(1.1) time for 50000 passes = 3.16
This machine benchmarks at 15822.8 pystones/second

I haven't tried the python cvs version yet, but extrapolating from
*your* numbers <wink> I'm guessing that it'll hit 18522 pystones.



PC's that live in clear plastic houses shouldn't throw pystones <wink>
