Web Services with Python [Newbie]

Hi all,

I am interested in learning a bit about web services using the SOAP 
protocol and would like to do so with Python.

I found the IBM resouces that look great:

but they point to a confusing collection of modules.  They mention 
SOAP.py and SOAPy but both look like there's not been much action lately 
(does that mean they are stable or that they are not use?).

Can someone savvy with writing Python web services suggest a simple, 
newbie-friendly way to learn web services with Python?  Should I go with 
SOAP.py, SOAPy or some other?
