Rudeness, although common is certainly worse than the ad.

And rudeness on a list where most of us are System 
Administrators, is inexcusable.  People learn by example, and 
the example set by being rude to someone teaches a bad lesson.

The proper response, if you did not ignore the signature file, 
like most people do, is to send a private message to the 
sender.  Ridiculing, someone on a mail list is horrible 
conduct.  Especially when, the poster is obviously in the middle 
of a frustrating problem.

What has been done is equivalent to yelling "Learn to swim" to a 
drowning person asking for your help.  Certainly, you have the 
right to tell them they need to learn to swim, but the correct 
time and place is during a private conversation, after you have 
pulled them out of the water.

Further discussion should take place off the list, but it was 
important for Glennette to know that not all the members of this 
list excuse rude behavior...
