	You've already seen requests for OS, etc. but based upon some follow-up
responses I'm going to make a wild guess.

	I suspect you are running a Linux/UNIX distribution.

	By default any file that begins with a "." is a HIDDEN file when
looking at directory contents.

	If you are using an X-window/desktop environment, you'll have to find
out how to get it to display hidden files.
