Perhaps you'd like to use a list comprehension to filter out the
values you are interested in:

>>> my_list = [1,4,12,3,5,2,1,45,6,32]
>>> my_filtered_list = [x for x in my_list if x%2] # only the odd numbers

[1, 3, 5, 1, 45]
