Hm. My idea was that we put something in place to catch underruns
and do sound substitution - for that, it's necessary to be able to
distinguish between underrun and silence.

Yep. I'm at UTC+10 for a few more weeks, then UTC+11. In general, I'm
an evening/night person, not a morning person.
