Depends on what your skills and interests are. If you are comfortable in
other programming languages trying to fix some of the open
tickets<http://projects.scipy.org/scipy>would be both useful and
educational. Adding and cleaning up
documentation <http://docs.scipy.org/scipy/Front%20Page/> would be another
area to explore, but you will need to get permissions for that; ask on the
list. Beyond that, much depends on your own interests. We can always use
help.
