_Teach Yourself Python in 24 Hours_ by Ivan Van Laningham is intended
for non-programmers.  Disclaimer: I was the technical editor, but that
doesn't stop me from pointing out that while this is probably the best
book available for non-programmers starting with Python, it's not the
best book for non-programmers that I've ever seen -- many of the
examples don't teach proper programming style from my POV.
