[Neuroimaging] What is required to modify spm.NewSegment to handle multiple channels?

Hi all,

There is a note in the doc string of the NewSegment interface that says
that it currently doesn't handle multiple channels. However, it looks as
though much of the infrastructure that would be required to handle multiple
channels is in place.

Does anybody know what work is left to be done and what is making the
extension to multiple channels difficult to implement?
