Oh I don't know.  I think we need to have the right amount of paranoia
about spam crawlers, but not too much.  For archives, I think it's not
that big a deal since you pretty much know (or *should* anyway) that
if you post to a public forum, you're opening yourself up to spammage.
I certainly view SIGs as being public enough that they can be trolled
for my address, either by Web accessible archives, or clever spam
troll list members.

However, if I subscribe to a list, I might decide only to lurk, and in 
that case, I might not expect my identity or address to be revealed.
Once I do post, all bets are off.

I'm really mixed on this because while I don't want to make spam
crawlers lives easier, I also don't want to stay holed up in my house
with bars on the windows and seventeen locks on the front door.
