[Borgbackup] prune .checkpoint ?

hello to all

it seems that .checkpoint archives are not concerned by the prune algorithm?
have we to delete them by hand ?

I understood that .checkpoint archives are created upon a problem, and 
we have to  consider them as "normal" (but incomplete) archives in that 
they contribute to the deduplication

your advices please
