[Pythonmac-SIG] Python Robotics?

Has anyone compiled the Python Robotics[1] (the *other* Pyro[2]) for OS 
X (10.3, builtin Python)?

Why are people still using Swig?  It seems like every project using it 
has a requirement for a specific version down to the third dot (i.e., 
version x.y.z).
