Why not allow empty code blocks?

It's not entirely about spam.  I stopped posting addresses because
people kept insisting on replying to my posts by email instead of on the
newsgroup.  They did that even after I did usual spam-obfuscation on the
addresses and asked in the message that I not get any email responses.
