epydoc help (putting XML in docstrings)

Just indent the xml:

def test():
     """
     Return an XML string that looks like this::

         <TRANSACTION>
           <ID>123</ID>
           <STATUS>D</STATUS>
           ...
         </TRANSACTION>

     @return: XML string.
     """
     pass
