Hmm...  Actually, I think Approval Voting 
(http://www.wordiq.com/definition/Approval_voting) might be more appropriate.  
They say that "Approval Voting would lead to the election of "compromise 
candidates" disliked by few, and liked by few", which I figure is about as 
good as we can get here. ;)
