I do know Delphi, well, and your partner is right.  On the other hand,
many of us build GUIs without the least bit of database attached, and
would not require such things.  That's why I asked francois for his
input.  For me, wxPython GUIs are plenty fast even with what I would
call "complex code", and I know Delphi wouldn't be significantly better
for my kinds of GUI.
