While trying not to sound like a preaching fanboy; I heartily
recommend looking into Slickedit. It has excellent support for Python,
as well as most other languages.
If you use Python as a tool language on top of or in combination with
other languages, it is simply excellent as you can mix project-types
within a single workspace. Additionally, the syntax tagging and
class-browsing support are as good as it gets.
It's not free, but it's inexpensive compared to the productivity
