I never said that the operators were broken, I said the idiom was. 
Nitpicking whether it should be called _broken_ or a _pitfall_ or
_dangerous_ seems to be dodging around the point -- it doesn't work,
it's in use as an alternative to the conditional operator, and that's a
problem.
