Mark,

I've just spent a couple of evenings wrestling with exactly that
problem, continually buffaloed by odd dependencies and inabilities to
find libraries.

The answer Greg Ewing gave in exactly what I eventually came up with.

I've put Python 2.2, at /usr/lib/python2.2 ahead of python 1.5 at
/ust/bin in my path, and then call it with python2.2, and it seems to be
working OK so far.

                                   -dlj.
