Book recommendation please

I know that feeling. Take a look at "The Quick Python Book" (Harms/McDonald,
et al, 2000 2nd Printing) Although it too is a v1.5 book, it has a very
friendly style to it.  Others on Amazon seem to share this opinion. It might
not be the last book you buy on Python, but it certainly is a good starting
point.
