Ok, so how about if we add it we get to eliminate one module that's
already in the standard distribution? (Seriously!)

Or, instead of a full-blown CPAN-type system, why don't we have a
secondary Python package on python.org that has lots of this
useful-but-not-necessarily-core stuff? There's many modules in the main
distribution that could live there too.
