More like needn't vs mustn't?  ;-)

I took it to mean they required support for whatever solution was
suggested.

Anyway, IIRC, Wing and Komodo both provide some level of remote
debugging from Windows to Linux, although perhaps in a limited way.
I've seen them both mentioned specifically to remote debugging of a Zope
server, if that's the problem.
