Best to reply on the list (as you have) so the largest number of
Pythoneers (never liked Pythonista myself) can reply to you.

You are fortunate that you chose Python, not only because it is
a most excellent language, but also because this is the nicest
newsgroup/mailing list around.  We don't mind newbies, not like
some lists...
