And as to the availability, Sharp has replied to this question with
some pablum about how each individual sales region (usually ==
country) has to commit to enough volume from the factory in order to
make the creature available.  That's happened in the US, and
UK/Ireland for the early-access model (5000) which is now no longer
available (I have no info on whether there's going to continue to be a
Developer box available), and for the released model, the 5500,
Germany has added.  And yes the whole business of local configuration
and packaging rules lies behind this.  You can't even buy one in
Canada yet.

I've been lurking on a lot of the forums recently and there are some
real problems with the Zuarus as a consumer-grade device. Programmers,
who don't mind rough edges generally, love it.  I have some worries
about its' survival in the marketplace.
