I think you are (slightly) wrong: You have three options for making
the source available: a) the source must "accompany" the binary, or b)
you must make a written offer to provide the source on request, or c)
you must include the offer you received yourself. Most people chose
option a), which is normally understood as "available through the same
channel as the binary". So if the binary is on CD, the source must also.
