debugging pdb

I've detected following error:

during debugging of module M the debugger doesn't work anymore (you
can't step into function or method).
So i want to debug the debugger to see who is responsible for that
behaviour.

The problem are the steps to do if I want to start the debugger which
starts the debugger debugging the application module M.
