i'm trying to download python 2.1 on a new machine, and having
some problems. i do a configure, then a make, and get:

->make
gcc -c -g -O2 -Wall -Wstrict-prototypes -I. -I./Include -DHAVE_CONFIG_H
-o Modules/python.o Modules/python.c

the same thing happens with 1.6.1

it works ok on another machine running SunOS 5.6.
does anyone know of a fix/workaround?

thanks
