Minor problem with IDLE

Whenever I use IDLE and Python 2.0 (Win98) to run a Tkinter script, and
exception occurs, I see the exception, but IDLE tends to freeze. I usually
have to stop it by using the task manager. In the old Python 1.52 days, I
would keep a dos window open and use IDLE as an editor which worked well
when debugging tkinter scripts. But with Python 2.0, the dos window freezes
also whenever an exception occurs. Anybody have any ideas?
