It was probably complaining about the lack of the PyWin32 extensions. Do you
have those installed? They are installed by default with ActivePython but not
with BeOpen's Python. You can get it here:
    http://www.activestate.com/Products/ActivePython/win32all.html
And I have heard reports that Komodo then works fine.
