Deposing Dictactors

Or, alternatively, considering the current Python license:

Everyone has the right to do whatever *they* want to with Python, except
that after they do so, Guido has the right to decide whether it can still be
called Python.

If you don't like the way Python is going, you can grab all the sources and
libraries, make whatever changes please you, and call it Viper (or
whatever).  That right is clearly granted to you by the license.  Of course,
then it's entirely your responsibility to fix any bugs, create any
enhancements, manage whatever infrastructure you want, etc, etc...

The only thing that Guido and PythonLabs have a limited right to, is the
Python name.  They've given away all other rights to the software*.
Therefore, they only "dictate" its direction because we, the users of
Python, allow them to.
