Halo Alan,

I don't think the mentality of the group (python programmers) has anything to
do with the fact of using or not an IDE. The only reason, at least for me, to
use an IDE is the OS itself. If you are using DOS (no multitasking no
multi-user, no multiple screens windows etc.) you find valuable to be able to
initiate a compilation or read documentation or edit your program with some
magic keystroke. On UNIX however you can have have different consoles,
windows, debugger sessions, or even machines. You don't need to constantly
entering and leaving programs in order to work.
