Python on the iPAQ

I just wanted to toot my own horn for a minute and mention that python
is now available for the Compaq iPAQ running under Linux from
www.handhelds.org. I've created some images that will put python
(1.5.2), libglade, libxml and pygtk onto /usr/local. These images can be
found at ftp.handhelds.org/pub/apps/arm/python/. Information on how to
install these images can be found at
www.handhelds.org/minihowto/python-ipaq.html.

I am currently working on modifing the testgtk.py program to work nicely
on a smaller screen. I am also looking into porting PySol to the iPAQ
(which means making it work on small screens and with gtk instead of
Tk).

pygnome support will be added when the base linux images include the c
gnome libraries.

We will probably be skipping Python 1.6 and moving right to 2.0 as soon
as the libglade, pygtk and pygnome libraries work with 2.0.

Any comments, fixes, patches, inquieries (sp?), etc. are always welcome.

Thank You,
Edward Muller
