I'm having trouble with that concept.  Seems to me, pretty much by 
definition, by the time the language has become popular, it's too late 
to be an early adopter, no?

When I first started using C in 1978 or so, I had to keep telling 
people, "it's a new programming language".  Now I'm doing the same with 
python (which I've been using for a year or two).
