running a python function from c

I'm working right now on try  to get a python function run from c.  I
looked at the tutorial (and it said it was easy), but I'm still not
sure how i run a function i've defined.  Where does it get loaded into
my c code.  Where do i tell it what .py script to hit?  If someone has
a simple example this working.  Can i borrow the code to see how it is
done?
