cmpfile taking file _objects_?

Hello,

is there any function comparing files? I know of cmpfile, but one of
my files is a StringIO object; is there a function to compare those
efficient?

If not, I'll split the _do_cmp function in cmpfile and send a patch,
because I think such a function is a Good Thing(tm).
