You can also debug perl (and python?) on linux/unix with ddd (Data Display
Debugger) the command line is ddd -perl yourscript.pl -youroptions

Incidentally, how are we supposed to pass in command line arguments to our
perl scripts? Is there anyway to do that on the local machine?
