[Python-Dev] sre and regexp behave baldy under lowmemory conditions

That's regex, right?  regexp was the *really* old regular expression
module we once had.

Anyway, I don't care about regex, it's old.

The sre code needs to be robustified, but it's not a high priority for
me.
