Hi Holger,

Glad to have you back. :)

The main points holding back 2.8 I think are:

* vendoring pluggy (https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/pull/959)
* merge pytest-cache into core (
https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest/pull/828)
