[Mailman-Users] Mailman using up lots of RAM

We just created a list that we compiled from other lists, and I've sent one
message to it, and our Sun Netra X1 with 512 meg RAM is having a very tough
time. What really concerns me when I do a "top" is how much RAM the
various mailman processes are taking up right now:

PID USERNAME THR PRI NICE SIZE RES STATE TIME CPU COMMAND
    533 mailman 4 59 0 68M 65M sleep 51:17 0.00% python
    522 mailman 4 59 0 70M 67M sleep 40:23 0.00% python
    529 mailman 4 59 0 71M 69M sleep 35:13 0.00% python
    521 mailman 4 58 0 66M 12M sleep 1:26 0.00% python
    524 mailman 4 59 0 19M 1728K sleep 0:04 0.00% python
    517 mailman 3 52 0 5816K 360K sleep 0:00 0.00% mailmanctl
    527 mailman 4 59 0 6904K 1552K sleep 0:00 0.00% python
    519 mailman 4 59 0 6864K 1552K sleep 0:00 0.00% python

Should they be taking up around 70 meg each? Is this normal, or is there
something I can do to help this?

Our Solaris machine was not responding several times today after I sent the
message last night. Other things were definitely going on, but I'm
wondering if it can handle the load or if I need another solution. We are
using Postfix.

Ideas?

Thanks in advance.
