[Mailman-Users] close a list

Hi!

Could it be possible to close a list? I mean, first mass-subscribe
manually a lot of members and 
then not allowing anybody else to subscribe.
The reason for that is that the list is going to be private, and though
I have thought of approval, it could be very boring to reject every
subscription request if there were a lot of them.
