[Mailman-Users] problem w/ GID setting

I'm trying to get mailman set up, and I seem to have run into a GID
problem.

After configuring, compiling, and installing Mailman, setting up a test
list, and adding a scriptAlias to my Apache httpd.conf file, I get this
when trying to access the URL provided in response to a newlist:

-------
Mailman CGI error!!!

The expected gid of the Mailman CGI wrapper did not match the gid as set
by the Web server.

The most likely cause is that Mailman was configured and installed
incorrectly. Please read the INSTALL instructions again, paying close
attention to the --with-cgi-gid configure option. This entry is being
stored in your syslog:

Failure to exec script. WANTED gid 65540, GOT gid 60001. (Reconfigure to
take 60001?)
-------
The thing is, that when I did the initial configure, I did it with the
following command:

./configure --with-cgi-gid='neigh artsadmin nobody'

65540 is the GID for group "mailman"

60001 is the GID for nobody, which is what the server is running as, and
which (I thought) I had properly configured into the Makefile

any thoughts on where I should start looking to find out what's wrong?

Thanks,

Miles Fidelman
