[Mailman-Users] unknown mailer error 2

this msg is being sent to the root account on my system when ever i send 
emails to any of the lists i have setup:

   ----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----
"|/home/mailman/mail/wrapper mailowner ops"
    (expanded from: ops-admin)

   ----- Transcript of session follows -----
/usr/bin/python: can't open file '/home/mailman/scripts/mailowner'
554 "|/home/mailman/mail/wrapper mailowner ops"... unknown mailer error 2


everything was running fine until yesterday but now it all seems to be broke.
does anyone know what "unknown mailer error 2" means?
