This is possibly not your problem but you might encounter it later, so
here is a warning:
Sendmail 8.8.7 has a bug, and mailmans mime digests may easily trigger it
-> sendmail segfaults, some mails delivered multiple times, some digests
never arriving. There is a patch for 8.8.X, and the fix is included in
8.9.x
