[Image-SIG] 11-bit Sat-images viewer?

Hi,

I am trying to open and view satellite images (3 bands 11-bit per band). It
seems not to be possible with the actual configuration of Python I have:
Python 2.0, PIL 1.1.1 on Mac OS 8.6.
Is that possible with another PIL version?

I need to open the images and to access the numerical information. Does
someone know any feasable solution?
