Robert, Are the slowdowns happening in the site that serves anonymous visitors, or logged-in users? If the former, it seems like your caching proxy *should* be intercepting these requests. Are you using cache-fu to cut down on internal processing of templates etc? (Your "normal" page load times sound pretty slow to me.) =jimA=
