Also, check out Rob's Camp5 artwork: http://trizpug.org Registration will open *very* soon. That is, within days. Advanced PyCamp took a hit last month. Google announced their Web Services API was removed from service. The first three units of PyCamp were based on it. They will have to be redone. Considering all the work we have with Camp5 going on at the moment, that isn't so bad. Also, the day Google removed the service was the very day Advanced PyCamp would have started if we had kept to the original Dec 18-22 schedule. So that would have been *very* bad for us. Sometimes we get lucky. -- Sincerely, Chris Calloway http://www.seacoos.org office: 332 Chapman Hall phone: (919) 962-4323 mail: Campus Box #3300, UNC-CH, Chapel Hill, NC 27599 From philipp at weitershausen.de Mon Jan 8 10:06:52 2007 From: philipp at weitershausen.de (Philipp von Weitershausen) Date: Mon, 08 Jan 2007 10:06:52 +0100 Subject: [triangle-zpug] Streaming PloneCon vids and other news In-Reply-To: <459BFC5B.9040908@unc.edu> References: <459BFC5B.9040908@unc.edu> Message-ID: Chris Calloway wrote: > Also, check out Rob's Camp5 artwork: > > http://trizpug.org That site doesn't seem to work for me... :( From cbc at unc.edu Tue Jan 9 04:01:15 2007 From: cbc at unc.edu (cbc at unc.edu) Date: Mon, 08 Jan 2007 22:01:15 -0500 Subject: [triangle-zpug] Streaming PloneCon vids and other news In-Reply-To: References: <459BFC5B.9040908@unc.edu> Message-ID: <20070108220115.qabjqcjz5wog8o4o@webmail4.isis.unc.edu> Quoting Philipp von Weitershausen : > Chris Calloway wrote: >> Also, check out Rob's Camp5 artwork: >> >> http://trizpug.org > > That site doesn't seem to work for me... :( The site has a catastrophic hardward failure yesterday. If you get no other takers, or rather, if we get a lot of other takers, I also have a five minute presentation on Clouseau (python debug prompt within Plone by Andy McKay) that didn't get made at the last meeting due to projector issues. I've learned a few stupid Plone tricks recently, any of which would make a decent short demonstration: - an AJAX-powered homepage based on Plone's quick-search, showing filtered document results - a corporate e-card site with email notification, Flash cards, private editing, and a public domain for display - using CMFEditions to auto-save versioned data, then showing its evolution in a concise table using ZPT - centralized user management across multiple Plone sites, using SSL and the new AjaxProxy product - using ClockServer to trigger periodic tasks in Zope without cron - securing a Plone site with SSL, SessionCrumbler, and expiring sessions If any of these would be useful or interesting to others, please let me know. =jimA= . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . If you'd like to come to PyCon but can't afford it, maybe the PSF can help you. The funding can cover any or all of: * Your registration for PyCon * Your hotel room at the conference hotel * Your flight or other transportation To apply, send e-mail to . Please state your name, location, and what you would like to have funded. If you want assistance with your transportation costs, please provide a rough estimate (say, to the nearest US$100) of how much a round-trip will cost. You should also say why you should come to PyCon, and what you'll be doing. We don't need an essay, but please provide a few sentences of explanation. Priority will be given to people who can contribute significantly to PyCon or to Python, e.g. students working on a task, conference speakers, sprint leaders or developers critical to a sprint, or people doing public service work with Python. Messages must be received by January 19 2007. Upon receiving your message, we'll send you a notice of receipt. The PSF's Conference Committee and I will discuss the applications and allocate funding to a subset of the applicants. You should be notified of acceptance/rejection by January 28 2007. Cost notes: PyCon registration is US$195. Hotel rooms are around $90/night; about $300 for the duration of the conference, $700 for conference + sprints. The hotel cost can be lower if you find someone (or two or three) to share a room with; this is encouraged. The PSF can't cover your meals during the conference, or registration fees for tutorials. We will try to maximize the benefit of the funding, so three people who need small amounts are more likely to be funded than one person who needs a large amount. To improve your chances, please try to request the minimum amount of funding you need to attend PyCon. Don't worry if nobody else is there when you drop in, or no one answers as soon as you message. It's more important just to be there for when the opportunities arise. That is, you can't see if something is happening in IRC if you aren't there to see it. :) Thanks brad and bendy for hanging out already today. Phillip and one of the sponsored sprinters (Calvin from Six Feet Up) joined us remotely today. It makes us look good when the rock stars come hang out on our channel and there are some of you already there as well. Eight people came to a UNCZPUG meeting yesterday before the TriZPUG meeting. Sponsored sprinter at the Hampton only (Whit and Phillip will be at the Carolina Inn)? Camp participants? Transportation to/from the BBQ and the 506 (after the buses stop running). Sorry About Dresden and The Nein have been added to our BBQ Sprint rock festival. Sorry About Dresden are lining up one more act for the bill. I can't say who until there is a confirmation. If you would like one of these very limited edition museum quality posters for just $20 each, please email camp5 at trizpug.org ASAP. Proceeds from this poster will defray the expense of Camp 5. Ron's work also usually goes for several times this amount and has a considerable after-market. I'll have to put in the order for the posters, and that will be soon, before seeing what they look like, because silk screening is a setup intensive process. • This will display only portal_tabs with a review_state of 'published' or *no review state at all* (because portal_tabs are action objects which don't have to refer to workflowed content) using the workflow in effect on the object being browsed. As they described it: There is a known security exploit in the Plone system which can allow posting non-image content, such as a script, html or other items, into the "portrait" areas. I checked the Plone site, and there is no reference that I can find regarding this problem. I have Plone 2.5. Should I just upgrade it to the latest 2.5.2 and will that solve the problem? Thanks for your help. Robert -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Name: robert.vcf Type: text/x-vcard Size: 171 bytes Desc: not available URL:
