Why oh why is top-posting liked so much that the default for displaying
issue content is reverse-chronological? It means that if you're looking
at a new (to you) issue with history you have to scroll down to the
bottom, read a bit (top-to-bottom like at least most western languages),
skip a bit higher, read, skip higher, read, and so on. For someone who
likes a speedy reading flow, this is truly aggravating. I daresay it
promotes not reading the entire ticket thus ensuring high likelyhood of
details being missed.

What ways of mitigating that can you come up with? Note that the issue
index comes with re-sorting options tacked at the bottom (why not the
top?) but the content view does not.

The python tracker already treats .diff as text attachment and when one clicks
on the patch, the text shows up directly instead of having to download it. The
same is not true for Jython tracker. Please see
http://bugs.jython.org/issue1194. While I could test .diff on python tracker, I
couldn't find a .py attachments to see if that is also treated as text. If it
is, please do the same for jython tracker. Same should be the case for .patch,
if not already so.

I have now installed detectors/patches.py from the python tracker. This sets the
content type for .diff/.patch/.py to text/plain, and also automatically sets the
"patch" keyword for .diff/.patch.

I've also run python-dev/scripts/set_text_plain, which does the same for all
existing attachments.

Please let me know if you need further such changes (e.g. making .java also
text/plain).
